Pheochromocytoma is a rare, usually non-cancerous tumor that develops in the adrenal glands. These tumors produce excessive amounts of catecholamines, including adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine), which are hormones that regulate heart rate, blood pressure, and metabolism.
